Progressive Access (after 2 years on A2 licence) - Unrestricted motorcycles in size/power and motor tricycles with power output over 20.1 bhp.

Direct Access - Unrestricted motorcycles in size/power, with or without a sidecar, and motor tricycles with power output over 15 kW (20.1 bhp).

A2 - Standard motorcycle up to 46.6 bhp and a power-to-weight ratio not more than 0.2 kW per kg, not be derived from bike more than twice its power.
